Mindful Eating Workshop

According to foodinsight.org more than 1 in 3 Americans are following a specific diet even though the success rate for dieting for weight loss is somewhere around 3-4%. Out of the people that lose weight most people will gain it back (and then some) within 3-5 years. I’m here to help change this story and teach about the practice of Intuitive Eating—A non diet approach to nutrition that helps women heal their relationship with food forever.

As women we place so much of our identity and self worth on what we eat and how we look and it affects how we show up in the world and in our workplace. In my Mindful Eating Workshop I help open up the floor to talk about these issues and give insight on how to accept the bodies that we have, while also feeling empowered around food.

About the Workshop

An hour lunch and learn, tailored to your organization’s needs, or a series of workshops that build on each other.

At a Mindful Eating Workshop participants learn how to change their unwanted habits with food,  through the practice of Intuitive Eating. 

When we tune out everything we’ve ever learned about nutrition and start listening to our bodies we will never struggle with food or negative eating habits, again.

 

What to expect

  • I share my story of overcoming a six year battle food and my body

  • We do a hands on practice with real food, where the participants will learn about the ‘hunger and fullness scale’, a number system to help them understand what hunger and fullness feels like in their bodies and how to honor the most natural cues near food without an ‘eating plan’.

  • Participants get an increased ability to navigate food at birthdays, holidays, and other people’s eating habits in the workplace and beyond.

  • When the participants walk out the door they come away with a budding confidence in their bodies to manage any situation with food without being on a diet. Even ice cream and cookies!

Body Image For Female Leaders

According to dosomething.org approximately 91% of women are unhappy with their bodies and resort to dieting to achieve their ideal body shape. Unfortunately poor body image is directly connected to low self esteem, confidence issues and affects how women show up in the world. It’s time we change that narrative. 

"Body image" is the way that someone perceives their body and assumes that others perceive them. This image is often affected by family, friends, social pressure and the media. In this workshop we discuss the core reasons of why we have body image issues and what we can do about them so it doesn’t rob us of our full potential in life.

Participants will come away from this time knowing how to feel healthy, beautiful, smart, confident and capable in the body that they have, starting now.
